ROOSTERS RESTAURANT AND JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION TEAM UP TO FIND A CURE FOR UTAH’S KIDS
Roosters Brewing Company and Restaurant and the Utah Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) are partnering to find a cure for kids with diabetes. Roosters is donating a portion of sales from their top-selling menu items during the remaining weeks of August and throughout September to help find a cure for kids with diabetes.
A portion of sales from Roosters’ What a Crock and Pepper Jack Shrimp appetizers and Bee’s Knees Honey Wheat brew will be donated to the JDRF. The campaign will take place Aug 17 to Sept 19 at both the Roosters’ Layton and Ogden locations.
“As Roosters is a strong community supporter and advocate, the collaboration between our two organizations was a natural fit,” said Jamee Davis, representative from the Utah Chapter of JDRF. “This campaign hits close to home for both organizations. We welcome the community’s support as we work together to find a cure.”
The campaign will kick off during an event on Aug 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Layton Roosters Restaurant. The event is open to the public. All those that have been affected or would like to contribute to the cause are invited to attend.
About the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
JDRF is the leader in research leading to a cure for type 1 diabetes in the world. It sets the global agenda for diabetes research, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and can be fatal. Until a cure is found, people with type 1 diabetes have to test their blood sugar and give themselves insulin injections multiple times or use a pump – each day, every day of their lives. And even with that intensive care, insulin is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications, which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation. For more information, visit the JDRF web site at www.jdrf.org or call 800-533-CURE.
A fantastic event for a wonderful cause! Thanks Roosters!!!
