M2M and Harvest Moon this weekend!

Mountain to MetroWe have been spreading the Roosters’ love all summer at various events and are ending the season with a bang this weekend!     The Mountain to Metro and Harvest Moon Celebration weekend is when we lay it all out there for everyone to enjoy, pig wagons, athletes, bands, bubbles, performers and the best fare from us and our 25th Street restaurant neighbors.   We were involved in the creation of this festival about 8 years ago and have been passionate about it ever since.  (And really proud to see that it has outgrown our small group of organizers and turned into the biggest celebration in downtown Ogden.)    And guess what?  It’s free.   Except for food and drinks and shopping, of course.   :)

This year Saturday combines two major events in two spots I love, the mountains and Historic 25th Street.   The Xterra USA Championship Triathlon is on Saturday morning at Pineview Reservoir and Snowbasin resort and the big party is downtown from 1 pm until 10 pm.   Look for me having fun in the triathlon in the morning and on Historic 25th Street after 2pm in charge of the green clean up team.  Pete, of course, will be serving up yummy pig from the big pig wagon while groovin’ to live music on two stages.   There are also really cool kids, tween, teen and adult activities on Saturday afternoon as well as the Mountain to Metro races downtown.  Saturday night, the headliner band, Savage Henry, will be playing on a big stage in front of Roosters and Xterra will project a highlight video of the race on the side of Wiseguys’ building east of Roosters.

All in all, it is going to be a big, fun weekend and Roosters brews and root beer will be pouring on the street as well.

We hope to see you on Saturday enjoying an incredibly gorgeous, sunny fall day!

Like the GOAL Foundation says, Get Out And Live!

** Last minute invitation,  “our friend is joining our friends tonight.”   Over the years we have developed a friendship with Conrad Stoltz, 3 time Xterra World Champion.  Everyone knows we are pals with Striders Running Store.  Conrad is a gentle giant from South Africa, but is a fierce competitor.    Striders in Layton is hosting a meet and greet with Conrad tonight from 6 to 7:30 and Conrad will say a few words from 7:30 to 8 pm.    Seriously, this guy is the real deal and is an incredibly gracious and gifted athlete.

** Be sure and try a Mountain 2 Metro Lager on tap in Ogden!    For more details on this weekend, visit www.mountain2metro.com

Goal foundation and Roosters are an incredible pair for sure. Anyone who misses this event, truly misses out. I’ll be there as soon as I can get there Saturday night! Hope too see all the fun then! Good job to all who are involved. Michael McBride from Goal deserves a pat on the back… No, not the ass, unless you’re close to him!
